Sea Maiden- Full ViewThis piece is constructed from objects that make their way near the mouth of the Carmel River Lagoon. As I was walking from Ribera Road bluffs to the River Beach I noticed shards of copper-colored sandbags jutting from the sand like errant teeth points. The colors and texture fascinated me. The material was not treated in any manner, no stabilizers, dyes, softeners were added. The dress is made from two sandbags and held together with wire tacking.The "Antlers" are made from kelp and wire.Photo CreditVivienne Riggio
